Mpk Mini Garageband Mac
I'm a newbie in music production and I've decided to get started with GarageBand. I have a MPK mini and I've tried my best to find information online but I can find no details on the correlation between my mini, editor software (where you set the CC/PC ect presets) and GB.
For example, these are the things I'm confused about and would appreciate if anyone could point me to the right direction:
1. I want to assign drum sounds to my pads and keyboard sounds to my keyboard. However, I can only trigger keyboard sounds or drum sounds when I use it on GB, depending on which instrument I select. Is this because of my DAW not allowing me to do it? Apparently the PAD MIDI and Keyboard MIDI channels in the editor has something to do with it as well from my research?? (Setting one channel to 1, another to 2)
2. Continuing from the above question - What do the numbers mean in that section? (Pad MIDI Channel 1, Keyboard MIDI Channel 1) and what do they do? What happens if you change the numbers?
3. I can use pitch bend in GB, but I can't seem to use the MOD wheel? I don't hear any changes when I play my keys and use the Mod Wheel when I play the Grand piano in GB (I used CC1: 126 and CC2: 0, 127 for the settings).
4. How can I assign samples/loops in GB to be triggered on my MPK mini? From all my research, there seems to be no mapping software in GB for MPK mini??
5. In Pad Controls - what does the CC button do? It doesn't do anything in GB for me? It just lights up all the pads I've pressed in red.
6. How do I assign a function to the knobs? I heard I need to download Hybrid into GB in order to map out the functions of my knobs - is that correct?
Sorry for all the questions, appreciate any help and direction given.

Sep 26, 2016 Just downloaded GarageBand and I'm having an issue with using my MPK Mini with it. GarageBand recognizes the controller (when I open the mini editor, GarageBand tells me there are 2 new midi inputs) but when I try to select it, it isn't listed in the preferences. Controller is on but cannot play any sounds once I select an instrument. Thanks in advance! Perhaps the most popular keyboard out right now is the Akai MPK Mini Mk2. A lot of people prefer this little machine, and there are more expensive, larger, and superior versions available. In addition to the price, the Akai MPK Mini Mk2 only has 25 keys, so I didn’t want to get it for that reason.
