Will there be a Studio One Performance Mode or a way to perform live with Studio One in the future?
Like Ableton or how FL Studio morphs into a 'performance ready mode' from its regular mode.????
This would be awesome!

In a few words, live clip launching ? No, Studio One still uses the modern but conventional sequencing conventions, but includes alternate methods to creative triggering, of which there are many, just not in the same way FL Studio does it for example.

They never discuss future plans about upcoming features in public so the only accurate answer anyone here can give is .. 'no clue'. The Arranger Track may have laid a foundation for that but nobody knows if that's a direction they actually plan to go in.
All we can do is wait and see.

I have thought of this too. I am keen to create some sort of Tangerine Dream live ensemble and I am looking into ways of being able to work with band and computer at the same time. (Jean Michelle Jarre has recently taken to Ableton not only to do the last two latest CD releases but performing too)

There are some levels of live performance possible in Studio One though. One being you could create a series of pieces planted on the timeline. These pieces could be a set of midi/instrument multitracks either feeding internal instruments or a bunch of hardware synths. Instrument tracks giving you the nicest tempo change facility.
The markers need to be set at the start and end of each piece. The end marker telling Studio One to stop of course. (or you alter its function here on the fly) It is easy to jump markers while playing or stopped. So arrangements could be formed live and the flexibility is there to either play against the band or not. It is just that cueing needs to be accurate and the band not change tempo too much. The loop can be moved pretty easily too while in playback and Studio One already seamlessly will go from the end of the loop to the start. When I do start Studio One live for a section playback I also need to feed the relevant clock signals out so people can either jump onto them or not for either sequencing or arp purposes. Better synchronization both into and out of Studio One would also be welcome along with improved live performance options.
But yes a dedicated clip launching feature would be nice. It would be good to translate and move the studio session from the studio out to the stage fast and easily with the live page offering lots of options. Live performances must be recordable too.
The other concept it so be able to create pieces totally live from scratch with no previous forethought. This is where some other current controllers and systems that incorporate hardware tend to be rather powerful in this respect.

It isn't a performance mode, but with the new MIDI direct input mode (available since 3.3.0) it's possible to trigger any VST with the output of any other VST, without the need to have an Instrument track in between.
Combine that with Groove Agent, MPC, Maschine or any other VST that is able to play MIDI sequences/clips and it can open a lot of new possibilities.
Now if we could also drag MIDI from the arrangement to a VST...

Every once in a while, the same question is raised from former Able ton Live users, but it's well worth pointing out that a lot of the success of S1, Pro Tools, and many other DAW's is that such clip launching isn't added or a part of their streamlines processes, and more linear approach. The only other two DAW's I know of that have a matrix performance mode besides live are Sonar, and Bitwig, and I don't see anyone beating down their door to buy into that workflow.
Personally, I'm glad performance mode is NOT in S1. It only clogs the arteries.
Just sayin.

And I am totally in favour of the concept of adding on what you need with Studio One. Yes when you look into something as great as Maschine then it all looks like a much better road. Get something like that and integrate it with your DAW. Maschine Jam also looks pretty cool and it is cheaper too. I am also thinking a having a hardware launch controller and arrangement manipulator is also a pretty cool idea too.

I really need assistance getting my mpc live setup with studio one 4.5. I can't believe I'm having so many issues with something as simple as midi control. I understand usb is used in controller mode. I am not interested in controlle mode or using akai plugin or software it's crappy imho. I already have a DAW. But i can't get mpc live working properly in studio one with 5pin din or a 5pin to usb adapter. Can someone explain how to set this up as well as the delay offset when recording from the outputs into DAW. and the transport not working either . or any midi learn feature.
In workarounds and tips would be great.
